Pete Flynn, PhD

Vice President Research

 

Prior to joining Ren Pharmaceuticals, Peter was Director of Biochemistry Research at KaloBios Pharmaceuticals; an antibody therapeutics company. Peter was a member of the original KaloBios team and was integral in the development of the platform antibody HumaneeringTM technology. Peter played a major role in the identification and preclinical development of KaloBios’ three initial therapeutic antibodies for the treatment of infectious disease, inflammation and cancer. He was also project manager for the company’s service business, completing many projects for both large pharma and small biotech clients. In 2007, the combination of technology development and client relationship building led to the non-exclusive license of the platform technology to Novartis. Prior to the formation of KaloBios, Peter was a researcher at UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center. Peter gained a PhD from the ICRF London (Cancer Research UK) and a first class BSc in molecular biology from University College London. He is the author of many publications and patents in the areas of cellular signal transduction and antibody engineering.

 

 

Mike Narachi

Chairman, Chief Executive Officer


Mike Narachi, Chairman, CEO and President of RenPharma was most recently an Officer and Vice President of Amgen Inc., where he served as General Manager of Amgen's Anemia Business from 1999 to 2003. In this role, Mr. Narachi led an integrated medical, marketing and sales team whose mission was to eliminate anemia and its complications. Mr. Narachi joined Amgen in July 1984 as a Molecular Biology Research Associate. He held various positions throughout the organization including: Global Development Team Leader for NEUPOGEN(r); Director of Clinical Operations in Thousand Oaks, CA and Cambridge, UK; VP of Development and Representative Director for Amgen Japan; Head of Corporate Strategic Planning; Chief Operations Officer of Amgen BioPharma, Amgen's Colorado-based company which developed new therapies for inflammatory diseases; and Corporate Vice President, Licensing and Business Development.

 

Mr. Narachi received a BS and MA degree in Molecular Genetics form the University of California at Davis in 1984. He received an MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA. Mr. Narachi also serves on the board of directors at Advanced Magnetics, Inc. which is developing an injectible iron therapy for Chronic Kidney Disease and is Chairman of Naryx Pharma, Inc., which is developing pharmaceutical therapies for Chronic Sinusitus. 

   

 

Angie J. You, PhD

Chief Business Officer


Prior to joining Ren Pharmaceuticals,  Angie was a Vice President at Venrock Associates where she worked primarily on new company building and corporate development activities for portfolio companies. During her tenure at Venrock, she served as the interim VP of Business Development for Anacor Pharmaceuticals, a Venrock portfolio company where she completed a worldwide licensing transaction with Schering Plough bringing in a $40 million upfront payment, up to $575 million in milestone payments and double digit royalties on sales for Anacor’s phase 2 product, AN2690.  Before joining Venrock,  Angie worked in business development at  Exelixis, Inc., a cancer drug discovery company where she completed significant out-licensing transactions with Genentech and Helsinn Healthcare. She previously worked as a management consultant in the San Francisco office of McKinsey & Co., working primarily with biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients.  Angie You received an AB in Chemistry and PhD in Biochemistry from Harvard University.
